    I still have not seen/handled a new Marlin
    357...they look too heavy and too wide, as
    noted here earlier, and I don’t like checkering.
    That said, I am wondering about the actual
    quality of the materials and workmanship?
    The price point on the new rifles is fine.

    I love older Marlins with all-right side loading/ejection, but pre-safety pieces
    seem overpriced...especially IF the new rifles measure up in most ways.

    I hope to own a nicer, unmessed-with pre-‘81
    one day...but, there’s always that doggone mortgage thing...).
