Chinesium, STAG, MrGunsandGear, and Dishonest People

My students can verify my long held belief that much of the budget AR world is full of imported junk.

Some people seem to think it's only the bottom barrel companies.

Here where the fun begins with STAG and MrGunsandGear.

MrGunsandGear gear posted on Facebook about STAG having a Black Friday sale on ambi charging handles for $15.00.

People in the AR world started asking questions about the design (it was believed by some, that it was a copy of another companies charging handle), and the provenance of the parts.

YouTube Personality MrGunsandGear responded that he had personally been to the STAG Factory and that their parts are NOT imported.

Well STAG admitted they are not made in the U.S.

Looks like other places are selling these Stag Chargers (Raptor Knockoffs).

Buyer beware.

Thank you for the PSA. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. Even for a Black Friday deal.

I don't understand how people can see that price and think they are anything but imported.

Thanks Chad.
I have brought up inconsistencies and hashed it out with mrgunsngear in the past.

Still trying to find that $39 8" 556 barrel I came across in my black Friday surfing.

That takes MrGunsNGear down a notch. It's a shame because I like the guys stance on 2A. I hope this is not a indication of how Stag gets parts for their rifles.

Interesting; I have seen accusations against various reviewers that they are paid to push products; wonder what MrGunsNGear gets?

I've never paid much attention to reviews from someone I don't know. Kinda like Consumer Report. Pay them to get your product reviewed. What could go wrong there. I've bought bargain before. Some have turned out to be complete turds, while others seem to be made well and have performed as intended. I've had bins filled with products that didn't work out for me for 1 reason or another. Kinda learned as I went. I mean I was collecting AR15 rifles before there were M4 rifles. Everyone back then was building match rifles with FREE FLOATED barrels. That was the cream of the crop back then.

So, when it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. But you never know until you waste your money to find out.

Maybe I live in a shell, but Ive never heard that accusation leveled at Consumer Reports. I think CR would deny it. https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...ners/index.htm Do you have evidence of CR bias? I've used CR over the years for larger purchases and it's been helpful to me.
