    It's about a 1 week turn around these days. Have you purchased a regulated firearm or 'other' in MD? My form was returned because I hadn't made a 77r purchase before they got it.

    google is your friend, I am not.
    I'd call. There could be reasons its delayed, like you've never bought a registered firearm. Otherwise, the letter could take from 1-6 weeks depending on staffing, holidays, weather, mood, and how constipated people are over there. The letter is the confirm. No one has ever DC letter checked me though. Check the box on the 77r.

    When you get your letter, make 10 copies of it and kept the original, plus your extra copies in a folder with your gun related files. That way, you won't be posting on here how to get a copy of you DC letter, 3 years from now, like so many have. I keep a copy in my wallet, but I can't remember any dealer ever asking to see it.

    How long ago did you mail your notarized application in? And as Ted76 said make multiple copies. I carry one in my glove box for easy access incase any dealer doesn’t believe me when I check the box on multiple purchases.

    I actually got a very quick response when I sent in a query via email about the status of mine. It had been a few weeks. I heard back the next day...was actually a very pleasant interaction. You can always call licensing division and ask...

    I scanned mine, and attached the PDF to the e77r per their recommendations. I offered a paper copy to my FFL, but he was satisfied that my DC status was confirmed by the 77r coming back "not disapproved."

    <sigh>

    I really liked that pistol, too. Can't believe how clumsy I wast to fumble it overboard ... everything happened so fast!

    I took a picture of mine, converted it to a pdf and it resides in my phone. If anyone asks, it's always with me.

    Same for my Form 4's and 5320's

    WHY?

    I have never been asked for it.

    If you check the box on the 77r, and don't have it, MSP will know.

    Letters get lost. MSP doesn't have a great track record of great record keeping. Who knows how they back up their databases. They still might be using Lotus Notes for all we know.

    Remember the boxes of 77r's stacked in a back room before FSA 2013 became effective? Allowing uncleared persons to share database logins?

    Make a copy. It isn't hard to do.

    Lotus Notes! Haha, you're showing your age. Believe it or not, my company only did away with its last Lotus Notes legacy application last year.

    I keep a copy in my range bag, if for no other reason than I always remember it is there.
