Mawkie should I clean the stock and action or just the action? I've seen a few threds about cleaning up the wood but I'm wondering if I should. The wood does seem a bit cruddy.

I have used "KRAMERS BEST ANTIQUE IMPROVER" (basically an oil with some "secret" additives) with great success on my well used but well preserved Garand (1955), it removed the dirt but left the beautiful patina. I also used it on my virgin Fazakerly No4 mk2, it did not change the color of the blond wood at all, just left an undetectable layer of protection . I have also used this stuff on a small piece of painted furniture that had a lot of smoke damage, it cleaned it up like a charm and did not damage the finish at all. It's not cheap ($20.00 for 8 ounces) but a little bit goes a long way. Give it a try on your new acquisition - and congrats, that was a nice find. Shoot it!

Sorry I messed the title up and can't fix it.....

Yeah, the only thing you can't edit. I did the same thing years ago. Intended to type H&R and instead typed H&K. Only one letter wrong but a big difference in the end. Got frustrated when I found I couldn't fix it. Ugh...

I'll admit that I have had, for some reason, zero interest in Enfield rifles. However, I have been listing to the "Blueprint for Armageddon" podcast from Dan Carlin's Hardcore history. It is a multi episode podcast (6 episodes, each episode is +/- 4 hours long) that discusses WWI. I am almost through the entire thing. One thing I learned is how tough the British troops were and how they were expert riflemen. That reputation makes me a lot more interest in SMLE rifles. I may have to pick one up!

I didn't know I wanted one either until I was it sitting in line with some newer bolt action guns..... I asked them to see it, as soon as I had in hand I decided to buy it.

Here's a 100 yard target with the 174gr with a center hold on the bullseye.....
Then this one is a mixture of 150s, 174s, and the 180s eyeballing the elevation changes.

if you do not already know about it, give yourselves a treat and search LE 303 MAD MINUTE. I think that you will be even more impressed with the 303.
