Is this a good area? Will be a surburban area , moving from rural MD
All the more reason to buy BIG (er) parcels. I am specifically looking at ~40+. Not that we won't have to deal with nonsense in "town" for shopping and such, but at least it won't be next door.
"Lots" of what? I'm talking about larger individual parcels, 40 acres or more, not likely suitable for future subdivision.
Hunting is not my main interest, not even top 3 reasons actually.
Before we purchased a house here we spent a fair bit of time exploring the eastern panhandle. The major reason we picked near Berkeley Springs was because we both agreed it was the least likely area to become overgrown in the next decade. That whole region is going to be a train wreck in a couple years. Last time I went down towards Charlestown, the number of farms that are being over densely built up is amazing. Jefferson county is going to have a very tough time with the infrastructure issues in the next ten years. Berkeley is in about the same condition.
I think it’s a shit hole but at least it’s not MD
