    Comments swiftly drifted to the question of abortion rights. Lots of interesting arguments. I had no idea that abortion had been dealt with under English Common Law. (It's either a misdemeanor or felony, depending on the development of the fetus).

    Faulting SCOTUS for failing to support Heller is perhaps reasonable, but given the composition of the court until this year, I can see why cert was never granted, and I agree with their decision in that matter. It's far harder to change a decision once made, than to wait until a reasonable alignment of opinion comes to pass, most especially on a subject so fraught with freight on both sides. I'd really like to see a 6-3 decision favoring my personal viewpoint.
