Their building on Bestgate added a no guns sign after the shooting and a month ago they added no knife signs. That’s every door in the building. Much safer now.

Still doesn't carry any force of law.

The Gazette is just avoiding having to accept that they are, at least, partially to blame for the murders of their own staff. They are in denial and afraid to wakeup to reality.

Yeap, I'll start to believe what the Crapwrapper prints when I see page one headline...."We Fu... Up" followed by...The management now realizes our inaction on reporting the crazy SOB that was threatening our staff allowed him to pass the background check and purchase the firearm he used to carry out his attack. Furthermore, our refusal to adequately physically protect our staff from a known threat, resulted in multiple unnecessary casualties. We accept the fact that our actions accomplished the exact opposite of our stated desire "to not make the situation worse".

BTW - even if I did see this, I probably still wouldn't believe much they print.

The ignorance of people regarding the operation of a gun simply amazes me (e.g. the suggestion referenced above - - - "Locks up the gun"???)
How can we possibly convince people to think critically and rationally about the issues of violence of any kind, when they are incapable of thinking at all, and would rather just "feel" (emote).
I think we have to start in the schools, maybe getting students interested in competing in the biathlon where rifle shooting is a key sport. How can we get that started, to offset the "guns kill people" nonsense of the socialist left in this country? If we don't get kids thinking clearly about firearms by the 7-8 grade, the liberal teachers in HS and college will ruin their brains forever.

I thought the CMP was created for that purpose. Too bad the only people who still know it exist already know about firearms. My niece competed on a precision shooting team in high school but that was a private school.

Front page above the fold, today's Capital: GUNZ DOWN, FIST UP (the online story, doesn't contain the BOLD GUNZ DOWN, FIST UP)
    https://www.capitalgazette.com/news/ac-cn-safe-summer-20190608-story.html

Opinion page has two or three postings on guns.

    They are friggin NUTS!

The reporter's Twitter link at the end of the article is incorrect. Should be https://twitter.com/laurenmlumpkin not https://twitter.com/lauren_lumps

I have difficulty classifying that as a "simple typo." Doesn't surprise me, tho.

They really are. It’s time for that rag to go out of business.

They are owned by the same company as the Baltimore Sun. There are virtually no independent news sources left any more.

Even the paper in the small town in Virginia that we frequent has been bought up by USA Today and had their editorial board replaced with the approved thought processes.
