Note to self...don’t ask any questions on MDshooters.com about random things you are thinking about just before falling asleep after a 9 hour drive with a bunch of smart asses waiting to pounce. But I guess I kinda deserved what I got now didn’t I?

    So let’s try again...

In Maryland, how is it treated legally if you start with an 80% lower to build an AR-15? Is it legal to do so?

What about an 80% middle? Or an 80% barrel? Will JB Weld really work for the thingy that goes up or does it need to be machined? Will it still go bang-bang when you finish the other 20%?

Never mind...scratch those last four questions and just answer the first one...pretty please!

Build an 80% lower. You're good. You have to obey all post 2013 laws still. Rifles/carbines require Hbars (assuming the lower was finished after the '13 law change).
    And all NFA rules apply.
There'll be more to follow, I'm sure...

    This.

Talking about 80% uppers, and barrels is overthinking things.

So we're not building an 80% upper anymore? I just retooled!

So you didn’t get in on the early smart aleck comments but thought you’d pile on this time around huh?

Since you retooled but won’t be needing the tooling...I’ll take ‘em off your hands for my next 80% upper project...

Do I remember from other stuff I’ve seen that you are one of the AR-15 gurus on the site? If so...you haven’t heard the last of me yet! :)
