As a companion to the "In Stock NOW!" thread, I thought that it would be a good idea to have a place to post photos of C$R firearms that we've just received very recently from a source where there are others like it available. The main intent of this thread would be to show examples of stuff that's still available through dealers, rather than a one-off purchase through an auction or LGS, etc.. This will let others get an idea about what they might be able to get, in terms of condition, import marks, accessories, and the like.

I like the way you think. We all like pictures and really like pictures of things that we can still get through the vendors. They should commission the site or provide discounts made available through a link on MD Shooters :)

Has it's own thread but here's the PEENED RC K98 that is available for 399 at Wideners. Kind of rough on the outside, mechanically great, excellent shiny bore.

Now let's look at the bolt....

Well, that's a strange looking mark....where have I seen that before...

And here it is again on the handle, too....weird....

Maybe the bolt serial can give us some clue....

    WAT ARE THESE NOT-CHINESE LETTARZ?!?!?

Yus. It's an Izhevsk bolt (all of the parts are izzy). And as the bolt is filthy and looks not-rearsenaled, I suspect it's "original" to the rifle.

    WHICH MEANS I HAVE A SINO-SOVIET TYPE 53! (kinda)

The stock looks to be the Chinese whatchamacallit wood (that I never remember the name of..."fung?" "tunt?" whatever...), tho....and has many, many interesting and who-knows stamps on it. (as well as the star, which I've heard from some is a Chinese mark, and from others is a Russian mark. :/ ) It's also got SCRWD (Standard Chinese Rifle Water Damage).

    Chu Wood.

So it would be whatwouldchucallit wood.

That's OK, I found IZZY bolt stamps on what I thought was an unissued/brand spanking new T53 from SOG.

I think they got lots of 53s without bolts and installed Russian bolts.

As those new orders of P64s and Chinese SKSs start coming in, let's post photos of them (and other firearms) here, so that we've got one thread to serve as a resource for what the major dealers' C&R stock is looking like. I think that would be much more useful than to have separate threads spread all over the place.
