I think it would actually be smarter to fight for 2A bear using a knife case than a gun case. It's less polarized but similarly applicable.

2A says right to bear arms. A sword or bayonet were and still are arms.

    arms
    ärmz/
    noun
    1.
    weapons and ammunition; armaments.
"they were subjugated by force of arms"
synonyms: weapons, weaponry, firearms, guns, ordnance, artillery, armaments, munitions, matériel
    "the illegal export of arms"

    Wiki:
A weapon, arm, or armament is any device used in order to inflict damage or harm to living beings, structures, or systems. Weapons are used to increase the efficacy and efficiency of activities such as hunting, crime, law enforcement, self-defense, and warfare. In a broader context, weapons may be construed to include anything used to gain a strategic, material or mental advantage over an adversary.

It is however a two-edged sword (no pun intended). By classifying knives as "arms" and not "tools" you open another can of worms. The US government for the past 100 years has regulated the heck out of guns in spite of 2A, as have the states and even the cities. What's to stop them from doing so the knives if this argument were pursued?

Just wait for it, Dems will figure out all they need to do is to classify semi-auto firearms as tools and not weapons.

In the court's majority opinion, Justice Charles Wiggins wrote that a pairing knife “is a utility tool, not a weapon" and so does not qualify as a constitutionally protected weapon.

Soooo ... the next time someone hits a police officer with a car, there won't be any "assault with a deadly weapon" charges, right? Because a car is a transportation device, not a weapon.

Fortunately, there's no mention of the word "weapon" in the Bill of Rights.

    Just got this in email:

    Jef,

Thanks for the reminder to update the legislative agenda. As to the other issue, we have looked into numerous providers of such services and none that we have investigated are affordable to us at this juncture. There's no question that it would make things easier for those who want to respond to our calls to action, as well as easier for me, but the cost of even the least expensive options that provide a significant improvement is enough that we would have to drop our legislative efforts in at last one state, possibly two, each year to cover the expense. So far, that' simply doesn't make strategic sense.

thanks for your interest and support.

    Regards,
