I suspect there's more to the story. With how little time it took him to traverse the country and end up at this women's house it almost seems targeted. Maybe he's a would-be hitman? Or perhaps an internet love affair thing?

I'm betting that the perp had some kind of online relationship with one or both of the daughters. How else can you explain, how some one goes from NZ to a rural house in VA, by way of La. in 3 days.

Obviously we're glad that the Family is safe . But to harken back to the once epic thread about the merits of .22lr handguns for SD/ HD : If the brave defender had been using a 9mm/ .38spl , or dare I say even a .32acp , we would have been reading a Press Release from the Goochland Medical Examiner about the body discovered on the back porch.
