Hello all. I’ve stalked this board for a couple months and finally joined up to participate. This is really a great forum that everyone has built and developed.

I recently moved to Bethesda, MD from Delaware. That means goodbye to my carry permit and high capacity mags (at least from the store). :sad20: However, what it also means is that I can finally start with some Class III purchases (all banned in DE). :D I'm setting up the NFA trust now for that purpose! I will soon be in the Class III forum complaining about the absurd wait times.

Before I moved, I was a regular shooter... at the pistol range twice a week and the rifle range on the weekends. I was once a half-decent competitive shooter in college, but have not done any competing for at least 10 years... no time with a full-time job in DC, a side business and a wife and baby.

    Welcome!

Bethesda, eh? Class III toys? You need to visit the boys over at Engage in Kensington.

Thanks for the tip. I actually stopped by a couple weeks ago and pledged to return after setting up my NFA trust. The people there were friendly and helpful... a definate contrast to the grumpy old men who seem to run the gun shops in northern DE.

Welcome to MDS from the "other" gun owner in Bethesda. Actually, there are a few of us, but not many.

I hear you. Any thoughts on why that may be? Is there some sort of liberal magnet in this county that I don't know of?

Perhaps all the smart gun owners in the DC area are smart enought to live in VA? :innocent0

Out of curiosity, where do you shoot? Options are obviously limited.

Welcome. If you get a chance, try the Thurmont Conservation and Sportsman Club, www.TCandSC.org. The are lots of different events and dates, if you want to compete. The distance is about 45 miles from Bethesda. The drive isn't bad, as long as it is not during rush hour(s).
