I may regret this, but, I'm thinking about selling my FR-8 that I acquired a while back.

I've not fired it. It's just sat in the safe.
The guy I bought it from, only fired it a couple of times, and it sat in his safe.

I have no idea what it's worth. It's in really good shape.
I'm just losing interest in it.

    ????????????

Can someone/anyone give me some input??

    Thanks in advance.

They're going for about $600. Maybe pushing $700 if it's really nice and has an original sling and bayonet.

FWIW, these are my favorite Mausers. Great size and good sights. A lot of fun to shoot.

I dont think you will have a shortage of interest. They are one of those interesting, unique guns. Had mine out today, not by choice had a little plumbing issue that made me empty the safes (even though they are raised above the drains) no major issues just a scramble.

Mine has nice metal but a crappy stock. Wouldnt mind getting another but just cant bring myself to go $600+!

I believe RJ1974 was looking for one a little while ago. If he found one...he may want a second one who knows.

Internet seems to dispute whether it actually means anything

It does affect the price. Both can fire standard .308 and 7.62 but just the rumor drives down the price on an FR-7.

But I have not seen an FR-7 for sale for years

    Just seeing the responses.

    Thanks everyone.

Now, the difficult part. Deciding IF I actually want to sell it.

Take it to the range...Fire a round...Grab the bolt handle close to the root and rapidly cycle the bolt to chamber another round.
Then once you finish recovering the flesh ripped off your little finger by the rear sight it will be easier to make up your mind to sell :lol2:
