Would love to get a double barrel coach gun.
    Here is a question.
If while loaded and cocking it your finger slips and the hammer falls. Do we have injury, death, and a big mess.
Is there a way there a way to keep this from happening.
I have never even handled one before.

I wouldn't assume it to have exposed hammers....

I have an O/U (short) coach style gun, aside from pulling the trigger it shouldn't "go off".

As long you follow one rule while loading..

    Point firearm in safe direction.

If it accidentally goes bang.. nobody/thing you have muzzle pointed at will be in danger.

Yes. It should already be pointed in the general injury, death, and big mess direction before cocking it.
It should not be cocked before loading.

If it has a half cock notch, it should catch the hammers anyway. I'm trying to remember if mine has a firing pin block...I'll check when I can.

I learned to never completely trust a break action SG while locking the action. A drooping or protruding firing pin will make a believer out of you always keep it in the clear or downrange. Avoid "Snapping" it shut or rapidly breaking it open regardless of who makes it or how new/good it is. Trade name single shot or poke stalk guns are known for it, seen it in doubles as well a 311 as a matter of fact.

That is an "Escort", not sure who makes is, when they did or for how long. It was part of a package deal I bought on Trapshooters a few years ago. Never seen one before and thought it was cool.

Might be a total POS for all I know. I own a lot of guns that are still in factory boxes/unfired.

Here is one, I paid less than half this amount which.... is probably all it's worth.
