Wayne keeps sending me emails asking for money. I keep replying, telling him to resign.

We don't seem to be getting anywhere, either one of us.

Why is this so hard for us. How many life endowment + members of us are there with voting rights to clean house?

    Not sure which is worse.

    (1) WLP going now, such that the NRA looks substantially weakened prior to the WH and US Senate deciding the content of potential new gun control legislation to be debated in September after the current recess. Will Trump take the call or give as much weight to the call of an interim NRA President?

    (2) WLP staying in office with an increasing loss of confidence in his leadership, and the WH viewing him as the face of the NRA as toxic and not wanting to associate with him (vs someone less vilified representing the NRA as an interim).

The NRA really needs a shining knight in armor right now. Someone with credibility in the 2A rights community and that is viewed with respect by Republicans and conservative Democrats (if they still exist) in the Congress.

There also needs to be a new structure. In the future, an independent board if directors should be able to remove an executive for cause. The board should not be just for show.

If the NRA has no option other than Wayne, then it’s worthless. The man won’t live forever, and lack of a contingency plan, or short list of replacements is a problem. If anything, Wayne has made sure there aren’t any options since the attempt to remove him.

2 is worse. One must cut out rot as soon as its found. As for #1, there is always another election or gun control proposal somewhere. Gun grabbers have been trying to ban guns since the 1980s, and using every mass murder to inflame people. They will try again.

    WLP needs to go asap.

Keep in mind, when new management cleans house, they always find a lot of creepy crawlies when they move the furniture that has not been moved in years. There will be more bad news, hopefully new management gets its all out of the way early with one big bath.

NRA does not need a white knight. They need a worker bee skilled in organizing various grassroots org. Ideally, invisible. WLP has become a huge target for the left. NRA should be more "like water," member driven, and hard to pin down. Say no to another cult of personality.

I wonder if Alan Gura or or the head of MSI would take the job?
