It's a show held annually the same weekend as the Waterfowl Festival in Easton (itself a great event!!). The Gun Show, BTW, is a separate entity from the Waterfowl Festival. It's a small show with a variety of firearms but primarily collectable and hunting guns from 1800's on and even much more recent. Missed it last year but the year before I picked up a Mannlicher-Schoenauer MCA in pretty good condition with Redfield scope mounts for just $900!! (That rifle in that condition would go $1200-$1400 from a dealer plus $200-$400 for the Redfield Mounts!) Also acquired an SKB 200E SXS pretty reasonably a few years before that. One cool thing is that only a few of the exhibitors are dealers...quite a few are collectors and very open to bargaining and trades. I've seen everything from old Parkers and L C Smiths to 6 and 8 gauge shotguns and even some more modern guns (although few if any in the sense of 'Modern Sporting Guns' as in tactical looking kind'a stuff). I thought I'd put an early heads up out there. The location is the Talbot County Hog Neck Community Center on the east bound Rt 50 just a bit before getting to Easton. BTW, if you go there and have time, you might also want to do the Waterfowl Festival. Exhibits are all over Easton but have to do with waterfowl and art depicting waterfowl. Plus some exhibition like retreiving exhibitions and the like. The festival itself is Nov 7th through Nov 10, 2013...but the Gun Show is only on Saturday and Sunday.

Used to go every year as a kid, always wanted to see more tactical stuff :)

Haven't been for a couple of years now, might head over there.

Typically we try to stay clear of Eaton during waterfowl though because of traffic unless we are actually taking the kids in.

The dog dock jump contest is always cool.

One good thing about that show is that even though Easton itself is swarming with Waterfowl Festival people, it's not difficult to get to because it's right on Rt 50. On the other hand, I have pretty often made it to the Gun show early, then hit the Waterfowl Festival later. The Dock Dog contest IS really cool as is the retriever demonstrations. I never ceased to be amazed how a well trained retriever can mark 2 different birds, run and fetch one then return to fetch the other! Also, the waterfowl carvings are AMAZING!! One offbeat thing I got a hoot out of years ago was a muskrat skinning contest. Pretty bizarre, but entertaining and I've seen the goose callers compete a few times as well. I've made the gun show most years for more than 30 years and I've been to the Waterfowl festival probably at least a dozen times in that time frame...although only every few years the last several years. LOL at peoples taste in firearms....While I have nothing against tactical stuff, I can see that anywhere. I'm a really big fan of nice quality and antique sporting arms....and THAT'S why I love this particular show. There are not too many places you can see the likes of punt guns and large gaues like 8 and 6 ga shotguns. There are usually some things like that there. There used to be a guy (we called him Doc) that had a rather large number of Colt Single actions there...although I don't think I've seen him for a couple years. This show, as I previously stated, has a lot of collectors and you can often horse trade and that's something becoming more and more rare at Maryland shows.

I'm planning on being there that weekend as a vendor with my engraving.

About how many tables are there usually? We're going to be roaming around the Waterfowl Festival with the Gordon Setter pup this year and I've wanted to stop the last couple years. Need to roust the Ms. out of bed extra early if I intend on doing the show and the entire festival.

It's not very large. I don't know for sure but it's basically 2 decent conference sized sized rooms...probably 150 tables tops...but I certainly haven't counted and never saw the number advertised. Here is the link to Eastern Shore Arms Collectors. http://easternshorearmscollectors.org/Home.html . Note their requirement includes 'No flea market items'. BTW, despite the depictions on the webpage, most stuff is NOT 1800's stuff or even turn of the 20th century although there certainly is some of that. Virtually every table is guns or guns related and there are often quite a few collectable firearms both older and more modern. As another stated very minimal tactical firearms/accessories. I have bought and traded for doubles and other collectibles in the past including the Mannlicher mentioned in the OP. Also as stated, many of the tables are manned by the Eastern Shore Arms collectors. One other thing...if you go to the Waterfowl festival, don't forget while downtown to stop at Albrights. Albrights is right near one of the bus stops that service the Waterfowl Festival (just across from the Tidewater Inn) Small shop, but lots of nice collectible hunting guns including many nice doubles. They are also an authorized Caesar Guerrini dealer and usually have several nice ones. The only other dealer I know with so many Guerinis is Barts Sports World. One time I was in Albright's a while back (sometime in the last 2-3 years), they had 6 Parkers including a 98% or so 20 ga Parker Reproduction in a DHE WITH WINCHOKES!!. Very nice! Sometimes I've seen Drillings there (something I'll be looking for in the future) and once a Vierling (4 barrels). They usually have a number of handguns although quite a few are vintage they are not necessarily ancient antiques. They do have an odd tactical type firearm now and again. http://www.albrightsgunshop.com/guns.htm

There is enough to the Waterfowl festival to put in a pretty good days looking...but you can cover the gun show reasonably well in an hour or hour and a half. They open at 9am. Also, make sure you see the carvings. Usually there at 2 locations...one with the Master Carvers which is THE one to see although both are good

sxs, thanks for the info. Sounds like the shows run by the NFC when I was in Southern Tier NY doing the show circuit with my dad with the 'no flea market items' clause. I wish there was more of that around here.

I'm in the market for a 20ga O/U for grouse when I hunt PA, and I figured that'd be the place to go look. Eastern Shore shows I'd think bring out the big money and the collectors though, so I guess we'll see.

Another star of the Waterfowl Festival -- freshly shucked oysters well under $1/ea. Tip the shucker and get prepared for a rather hefty dozen. Wierd how a couple extra bucks means he counts to 12 but gets stuck on 11 four times. :D

My dad and I used to go when I was a kid on the Shore. I recall it as a lot of hunting guns. With SB-281 now law, I'd expect it to be even more strongly in that flavor. Mid-County has attended in years past but I'm not sure if he'll go this year.

Don't get me wrong....I like/shoot anything! But, I'm more a 'hunting gun' kind'a guy anyway. For that reason I've always loved this show. It's the last of the shows that I'm aware of that has quite a number of collectors as opposed to dealers.

I just today ordered T-shirts from Maryland Shooters. I'll have to wear one there just in case any fellow members attend so maybe we can say 'Hi'. :)

I will have to plan on getting a table for this. I still have some nice pre-1898 guns to sell. This looks like a good show for those kind of guns.

I will be there walking around with a Marlin 1894 stainless in .44 Mag and a SKB 85TSS over/under in 28ga. Both with boxes and papers and Marlin has two Georgia boars to it's credit. :D

Take the wife and kids. They can watch the ice skating practice so you can stay longer.

Powder and primers at the show

The Easton Gun Show has a guy who is selling powder, bullets and primers. The powder is $35 per one pound container. The four pound containers were $115 each. He had .223 55gn bullets, (looked like Hornady bulk) and .308 bullets.

Sold my 28ga shotgun, now I can put a motor on my Fishing Kayak. The paddle back to the ramp was getting longer as I get older.
