The Lyman Case Prep Center is great. The reamer tool is a must when decrimping cases like LC. But, they're $10 each and I find they wear down quickly.

So I got some 4.4 mm drill bits from Amazon. A 5-pack was $6.89. I filed the point flat so they wouldn't drill out the pocket. They worked good in a drill.

But, I wanted it as an attachment to the center. So I cut the bit short and cut threads with a 8-32 die. Works great. They measure .170 so they don't fully open the pocket to SAMI size (.1745-.1765) but they open it enough to go on to the pocket uniformer tool without the case binding.

The bit is hard. I said I "filed" the end. More like, I tried to file the end, and when I made no progress, I ground it down with the edge of a dremel cut-off wheel.

I never thought I'd be able to get threads on it either. It was a little tricky to get it started. I first put them on the full-length bit, but they weren't straight enough. So I shortened it. Cutting threads twice did not appear to trash the die.
