I found it before the spoiler, but walking through the woods, I would have stepped on it for sure.

I assumed it would be well framed by the photographer in the middle of the picture. I was right. And I still didn't see it.

Yep. I found what I thought was the head but couldn't find the body. In the wild I would have stepped on it if it didn't move first.

And that's the problem with copperheads. When you get near them, they don't move and just rely on their camo to protect them... until you step on them, then they bite.

I'm still waiting for the pic to change to a screaming ghoul or something while I am looking close.

    They get me every time.

I think I'll be wearing hunting boots every time I step into the woods now! I assumed it was in the center of the photo and still never saw it. I thought it might have been a "trick question" and started looking for a Copper Penny (Copperhead) until the spoiler pic was posted. Thanks for posting.

Didn't the smell give it away a little bit? Should have gotten a whiff of cucumber

Wonder if we going to start seeing any Cottonheads (Cottonmouth/Copperhead hybrid) around here? Are they going to be a very aggressive Copperhead or a laid back Water Moccasin?

That was hard to find, but once you pick out its camo it stands out like a sore thumb. I wonder if I would have stepped on it with how cautious I am in the woods, probably would have been right on top of him.

How poisonous is a copperhead? If an average guy gets bit, what happens?
Pretty sure I saw one at centennial lake two years ago.

Found it, but had I been walking along and it had stayed stock still, I'd likely have walked over it. There's a reason I wear high boots with gaiters in the woods. I've had copperheads strike my boots 3x in my life. Once was two days before I was to get married.
