I didn't know Ruger made a lever action .22 until I saw one on Armslist. I decided to buy it. It takes the same rotary magazines as my 10/22. Haven't had a chance to shot it yet but it looks to be in fine condition. Should be a fun shooter.

its a great shooter. model 96/22. I now use it for rimfire steel at our local match. makes reloading a lot quicker with 10/22 mags instead of loading the tube of my Winchester 94/22.

I've been thinking about a lever action .22, I had no idea they even made one. Hmmm, interesting.

Took it to the range yesterday and had a few FTE issues. I'm not sure if it was the ammo or me, plus the lever had a much shorter throw than my Marlin 39A and I struggled with the rhythm of cycling the action. Once I got a feel for it things went a little better. I need to go back to a longer range and spend some time with different brands of ammo to figure out if I'm going to like this gun or not.

If you don't like it, there will be several people in line to take it off your hands.

I think Ruger made 22lr, 357, and 44 lever guns. All box mag fed. No idea why they stopped making them. For that matter, the 44 mag Deerfield was also very cool.

[EDIT] just checked, Ruger made the in 22 lr, 22 wmr, 17 hmr, and 44 mag.

Like any 10/22, the rotary mag can be finicky about ammo. Mine HATES Federal jacketed hollow point.

Took it apart and gave it a good cleaning and went to the range yesterday. It ate every thing I fed it and was accurate too. I'm really pleased with this gun. I have to admit I was a little concerned after the first range trip, but I think all it needed was a good cleaning. I still like my 39A better, but this Ruger is a nice little firearm.

Took it to the range again yesterday and probably shot my tightest groups ever with this rifle. That might not be saying much considering I'm not that great of a shot to start with. Anyhow at 50 yds I put 22 rounds in a 1 1/2" group. I took 3 more rounds (25 round magazine) to a different target and made a cloverleaf with all three touching. I was shooting from a bench rest with the forearm resting on my gun bag. When I moved out to 100 yds the groups expanded to about 5 or 6" so not that great but acceptable for me. All shots were Winchester M22 ammo.
