The last time that I bought a firearm, George Herbert Walker Bush was occupying the Oval Office as our 41st President.

It's now 28 years later and in the year 2017, there are certainly a lot more regulations to comply with before I'm able to go out and purchase that new Colt Cobra Revolver that I've been lusting over.

So with that said, on Jan. 05, 2017, I completed my Maryland HQL application and learned earlier today that it was approved on January 23, 2017 - 17 days of total processing time per the MSP website. I'm anticipating that I'll receive the hard copy of the HQL license later this week in the mail.

A note of thanks and appreciation for all of the great information that I've been able to find here on the MD Shooters Forum - it was certainly a help when I was going through the HQL process.

By the way, I saw a YouTube video about that new release of the Cobra revolver, looks awesome! That's a heck of an endorsement if you haven't purchased a gun in all these years, and the Cobra motivates you to go through the HQL process to get it - worth a look for some others I think.

sounds like my situation as well. I didn't even know you needed a license to buy a handgun when I went to buy a 357 mag. lol
