I agree with most of your points but there is no way in hell I'd use or recommend someone using a Tavor for SHTF. You can pretty much bank on never being able to find parts for it.

long term SHTF i would still go with an AR
For shooting paper, the AR still reigns supreme

But for home defense or a truck gun..... The Tavor works
An equivalent sized AR would need a tax stamp and suffer from a horrible muzzle blast, reduced velocity, decreased accuracy.

crazyal and I are going sewer alligator hunting with an AUG and a Tavor. Crazyal misses the days of being a tunnel rat.

    Back in MD sadly
    Because of the new laws.

    Cause I've always wanted one.

Yes, because of seeing it in the video games.

    To impress my friends :D

But showing it to my dad has made him want to get into shooting so I can say it as something to bring my dad and I closer together.

Its just another range toy for me. In all seriousness my chances of needing a CQB gun are slim. If a SHTF scenario happens my family has a plan that would look more like the Alamo.

Buying the Tavor 16 inch went on my short list when the Gov emplied I couldn't have one. Like many on this board I purchased several firearms that would have waited or would have never been purchased if not for SB281.

    This.

    Nice M21 Dan:D

I bought mine because its ugly/funky. Im just drawn to the odd stuff thats well engineered. Im strangely attracted to the Kriss Vector too:o. My engineering genes make me appreciate functional design.

This...I find it's simplicity from an operator standpoint outstanding. It is defined by it's purpose and it's purpose IS immediately apparent when you pick it up and engaging targets.:party29:
