    Hey,

So im not so sure where to put this...

I dropped my ZPAP92 AK pistol off at the gun smith today.
They are helping me remove a tap that got stuck when threading optic mount.
Anyway, I also asked them for a quote on removing the welded muzzle cap but the guy said that is illegal. I wasn't quite sure if he meant him doing it is illegal or me putting one on is illegal. I could have swore everything would be in good size standing even with an extra 2 inches on the muzzle.

Now I do have a folding brace and its limited to 12" LOP.
Folded its 20" from adapter to muzzle.

Is it a problem if I add a CNC Warrior 4 Piece Krink Brake?

Otherwise, I guess i'll send her back.

    Thanks!

I’m not sure if the law has changed in MD recently but I know plenty of Maryland guys who have removed the welded thread protector and installed their own.
By the way on mine, I removed it myself. It’s a soft weld. I just used a file and it took about 5 minutes to do the job.

    Hey! Thanks for the reply!

Good point... and originally, I was going to do it myself.
I actually had three projects on thy PAP; foldable brace, scope mount and the muzzle brake.
    Brace was not an issue.
Attempted drilling the dust cover. Made one hole. 2nd hole failed miserably.
Attempted to tap the first hole and the tap broke off in the dust cover.
So yea... I tried and failed! Of course I should have used a drill press but the gun would not line up properly to drill the correct holes
Had to use the hand drill which f'ed it all up.

I went out and bought a Dremel 3000 with metal cut wheel.
I never used one before so I don't want to be a hard head and start hacking away at my investment.
I need to figure out what I can use to practice cutting before I work on the gun.

But either way, that is why I went to the gun smith! lol

I didn't think there was an issue in doing this project as you state, but maybe its just the shops rules.

    Thank you!
