    Chicom AK's are probably like IMI Galil's, not even made anymore. Original style anyway.

    Here is a Swiss catalog from 2014 with a Norinco 56S-1 for 650 CHF ($1.02 per CHF today). While that seems high, it's very cheap compared to other gun prices over there. American prices from the 80s probably aren't far off once you adjust for inflation.

    This is mine that has been in the family since it was imported. Was my Dad's and after he died I got this, his galil, his sp1, and serveral others. Don't know what it's worth but had the three mags with chrome followers, the bayonet, sling, and oil can in the box.

    Wow. I'm rather shocked to see that the 84S bakelite sidefolder is still being produced. I'm guessing it's not bakelite any more, but still... those are one of the niftier AK patterns out there. Given how hard they are to come by in the US, I always assumed they had a short production span.

    Even more shocking is the price of those Romanians compared to the Chicoms!
