If it is raining {not thundering or lightning}, the SRSO's have the option of letting the members and guests stay on the concrete firing pad/with overhead canopy during a ceasefire; but preferably behind the white line.

But the rule is: A member's guest cannot be on the concrete firing pad if said member is not present.

Nothing. I'm sure he was talking about a loaded magazine in a rifle.

Nothing, I have loaded mags on the bench all the time. Just not in the gun.

I was at the range yesterday...side arm nazi was not working. Trip was pleasant.

I paid very close attention to the cease fires. Not once did the Range officers actively check the line during a cease fire (over 3.5 hours of shooting). They checked to see if members were off the pad but did not check rifles. They just assumed if you were off the line your firearm was safe. At one point the club match had a hot muzzleloader and had the hardest time getting the RO's to acknowledge it.

Not their best day....

The old RO's used to walk the line every time. Check every station. Ask members to correct problems (politely I might add) and members would comply with no conflict. I'm not sure what happened to all of them but if they are still around perhaps they can help train the new guys......

He never appeared to me to be a side arm Nazi. Just safety conscience.
btw I haven't seen him work weekends but I promptly de-ass the range at 10:30am.

I don't care if an RO is armed or not, I have been to ranges where armed RO's are a very good thing.

I wasn't pleased with him resting his hand on it before he went to talk to any member. If your opening to any conversation is to put your hand on your pistol and then start yelling you really need a snickers.

It's the same BS attitude that made me vow never to go anywhere near cresap.

I didn't see anyone carries a sidearm at Cresap from 2009 to 2011. I went there every weekend (10am to noon) for 2 years.
