What are your opinions about the round and bolt action rifles in this caliber? I've read that it tears up the hides of coyote that are shot with it.

    Where they send me.
Good round; fast. Doesn't tend to wear out barrels like some of the other 4000fps rounds.

The hide debate is a rather heated one on some forums. I think it comes down to bullet selection (like most calibers) and shot placement.

The 204 is a great round. It is extremely accurate and fast. There are a lot of options if you reload your own. there are others tat are really good like the 20 Vartag, but ammo and brass is even harder to find.

Made a sweet deal yesterday on a new Savage Model 11 in 204 Ruger at a Cabela's in Omaha, Ne. I took a New Model Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Magnum and traded it in for the rifle along with a little over $90.00. I got more for the revolver than I paid for it! I made up some rounds using the small rifle magnum primers and will take them out to shoot later today.
