trying to get all my ducks in a row to purchase a new stripped lower from a friend legally and locally to build an 11.5. I may want SBR one day but not yet.

filled out 77r, planning a visit to Jessup MDSP barracks this Friday.
do I need finger prints and/or 4473 background filled out or done ahead of time?
...or is it a one stop paperwork, and a 7 day wait?

Everything i read for stripped lowers is unclear, and how to transfer them in state.

    Thanks.

I've always bought lowers from a lgs. 77r, 4473, 7 day wait for the 77r to come back "not disapproved."

    Never had to give prints.

    This wasn’t the question.

    I’m going thru mdsp

Do you still need prints for a lower transfer as secondary sale

    your question was answered.

    no HQL, no prints

on the 77r click the HQL exempt radio button and then click lower receiver.

I've always had smooth transfers at United Gunshop in Rockville.

Same here. I actually ordered an Aero stripped lower receiver from United on their web site (I don't think they have any now). Can also just have your stripped lower sent there. Did the Maryland online application, 7 day wait, approval notification.

It started life as a pistol with a brace and 12.5" barrel. I applied for a stamp using the online eForm 1 and got it back in about 35 days. The eForm1 did require uploading a photo and sending in fingerprints.
