I think $110 is pretty good for a matching # Hex receiver. I wonder if the ad is true. It said even the bayonet had matching numbers. I never realized the bayonets had numbers. You also have to factor in the transfer fee you will have to pay unless you have your C&R.

I've dealt with Dan, he's top notch and held in pretty high regard in the local firearms community. Haven't seen one of his 91-30's but I trust him. He will stand behind the product. He's a small operator and hand selects his guns. Call him, he's very nice to talk to. Hope this helps...

I wouldnt bother with the timonium show unles you want to pay 150

110 for collectors grade and a matching bayonet is easily worth 110. I may buy one myself

I bought my first Mosin from him at a gun show and would do it again in a second. For that price you cannot afford not to. He is a good guy IME.

Wish it wasn't so far away. Didn't realize Apollo PA was that far west. Those Mosins look nice. He also had a crate of Yugo SKSs. Me want a 1927 Mosin.

Did anyone get any of the M38's he put up for sale yesterday? They didn't even last a day...I definitely dropped the ball on that.

I have a 1927 Izhevsk 91/30 for sale, but you probably want a Tula.

I don't really care if it's Tula or Izzy. I like the look of the 1927 one at Dan's. Is yours in good shape and priced comparably? If so, I could possibly make a run to Brunswick sometime, my uncle lives out there.

Yes and yes, condition is wonderful and better yet it has the older import marks on the barrel rather than the billboard crap you get nowadays.

I fell victim again and my order from Dan arrives tomorrow. First foray into mosinitis begins. Did anyone else get one? Are they all cosmo'd up?

First Mosin (yet) and I think she's a beaut. I'm a total noob at 91/30s, so I would really appreciate some of the MN experts filling in the blanks as to the origin of this fine firearm. The bore is perfect, but I couldn't get a good picture of it. If it weren't 80+ years old and HAD to have seen action, I'd guess it was shot twice and locked away somewhere. But who knows...

Numbers all match, and as you can see from my pics above - theres some orange filler in the engravings. I've read that's done during refurbishment. Based on another site, I believe mine is an Izzy from 1932. Quite happy with it, though it's just COVERED in oil. Not cosmo (I think, but could be wrong) but thin gun oil.
