I've have or have had a bunch... CZ varmint, Remington 581, Rem 541X, several marlins i forget the models, a Henry, a Savage, and a few others I can't recall at the moment, but my absolute favorite is my Winchester 69A. Nice and worn and has that vintage "look" and accurate as any of the others..

The only drawback is, its an early model and not grooved for a scope.. If i see another one around that grooved, i'm buyin it.

    Like you, I have so many, 22LR and 22WMR. They're so much fun. Maybe my top 4 are a Browning BL-22, a CZ 512 in 22WMR, a Tikka T1x in 22LR, and a Winchester 9422M XTR in 22WMR.

I sold a member on MD Shooters a very nice grooved 69A a few years back, very nice rifle.

Of all the 22's I have this Cooper Custom Classic is my favorite, not only looks good but is very accurate, the target is 5 shots 50 yards, equaled factory test target.

I have a thing for .22's with my favorite being my Kimber 82 Custom Classic, it's a close second my BSA International MK III or BSA model 15 Centurian or a couple of others. I really can't choose an absolute favorite.

"Big , little, short and tall,, wished I could have loved em all"

Marlin 39D is what I like to take a walk in the crisp fall woods with.
I would love to list all them here,, but the government and all

Ruger 10/22, unnecessarily modified but it's a shooter. Chipmunk with a beautiful walnut stock, it was my first gun and will go to my son or daughter. CZ 512 in 22wmr, had some cycling issues but fixed by polishing the extractor and channel. CZ 552 in a chassis, super accurate. I had a Win 48B but I sold it. Browning T-bolt in 22wmr, the straight pull is so much fun. Marlin 68, my only lever gun and very fun to shoot. Then a few pistols obviously. If I could only have one it would be the 10/22 because it's as accurate as my bolt guns and is semi auto.

One of the things I miss about growing up in Nebraska was the ability to easily go out and plink around with a .22.

I had so many to 22s to choose from as a kid. I don't know why my Dad had so many - probably because he'd pick them up cheap at garage sales and that sort of thing, so there were about 20 or so 22s lined up on the big gun rack along the one wall in the basement. I used a little Browning 22 initially because it was such as small gun. It ended up breaking - those were notorious for having the tube magazine outer tube break off in the stock. They ended up replacing the stock on it, but it was never as nice as when it was original - the metal to wood fit just isn't great. (I still have it)

I started using another 22 for a bit - a Western Field Model 59. It was ok, but it would jam if it got dirty.

At that point I gravitated to another 22 on the rack - I didn't even know what it was at the time, I just liked it because as a lever action, it had a certain aura of cool about it. It was an early 1950s Marlin 39a. Unfortunately, that one is no longer with the family.

I guess of the 22s I have now, my favorite is probably my Winchester Model 1890. It's old, (Manufactured in 1913) but not particularly collectible - the barrel on it is a generic replacement so it has multiple dovetails to attach the tube magazine and the repair wasn't done particularly well. At some point the stock had been broken as well, so it was fixed with a bolt through the stock - it's round on one side and square on the other. It's a family gun though, and my Grandpa specifically told my Dad that it was to be mine when I was old enough to have it.

I've thought about seeing if it could be restored, but it would cost more money to do that than it's worth - I'm just not sure if that juice is worth the squeeze.

Even with the wear and fixes, that's a very attractive rifle. The stock fix with the bolt even looks nice. Thanks for posting pics.

The crazy thing is how good the wood looks. If it wasn't such a sacrilege to clean up an old Winchester, I'd put some work into that stock to really bring it back, although I'm not sure what good it would do with the metal being as worn and faded as it is.

Whoever did the repair on the stock did an excellent job - if not for the bolt, it's almost seamless.

My favorite is my 69' marlin 39a. Also love my cz452 american and remington 511 scoremaster. Always on the lookout for old 22's at gun shows and consignment racks.

Have a lot of 22s, love my tiny AR-22 folder the most. Can swap short or long handguards in 30 seconds to tuck a suppressor or, run with a flash can, fun as hell, reasonably accurate, can fold up small enough to pit in my pistol bag. The CP33 is growing on me, it's unique and fun, reliable 50rd mags in about as small and capable a package as a suppressed "braced pistol" can be. My kids love shooting these, have a steel target layout at my local range, and almost every time I go, I bring one or the other.

I have a Mossberg model 46 (I believe) tube fed, bolt action 22 s, l, lr...love that rifle. Used to pick clothes pins off target frames with each shot. Also have a Mossberg 640k 22 magnum, scoped with a beautiful stock...love me some old bolt action 22s...

Add to that list my Rossi gallery gun wit the barrel as long as the magazine tube...another clothes pin killer.

My little 510 and 597 Remingtons are embarrassingly good guns for the prices I paid for them, less than $100 each. They both looked like garbage when I bought them. Kids prefer the Nylon 66 when given a choice. A 66 was the first gun Jerry Miculek ever shot and he will still tell you how much he liked shooting it. Also, when the US Army was testing .22's for possible full auto conversion during Vietnam, the 66 had the highest rate of fire of any gun they tested.
