Yep. Taking people's property because of what someone thinks they might do.

It's hard to believe this passes muster.

That's the whole idea behind red flag laws, isn't it?

Or did I miss the sarcasm?

Anyway, once the populace is disarmed, the Thought Police will be able to legislate and enforce the rest of the agenda. Kitchen knives, alcohol, 32 oz sodas, motor vehicles that cannot be remotely controlled by the State, un-microchipped children unescorted by an adult, satire and hurtful speech . . .

    Hyperbole, you say? Just wait.

It sounds just like London today. No guns (except for police and criminals); nothing sharp; jail time for nasty tweets; mass stabbings; etc., etc. The Ministry of Pre-Crime did its work well...

Then why were you looking for sarcasm?

Not looking for it. I was a bit suspicious that the poster might have been writing tongue in cheek, so to speak, as it seemed sort of obvious to me that the red flag laws were exactly as he described, though he wasn't addressing the red flags.

If that was the case, I didn't want to belabor the point. But it seems that the point was going to be belabored anyway, just not by the poster in question.

So much for not wanting to waste bandwidth on an essentially trivial point.

    ...

Yes it is. And, no sarcasm intended.

My point was that I can't believe that this is legal, that it passes Constitutional muster.

Has the judiciary weighed in on these? Anyone know?

IF the alleged Nazi actually IS a Nazi, that's pretty much an indefensible ideology .

BUT depriving people of their Rights for their political views absent any criminal activity is an extremely precipitous blare ice covered slope .

He is a self avowed nazis. Of a group of nazis that claim they have violent intentions. And is a leader among them. And has talked on numerous occasions of committing violent acts.

On the extremes of “as an ERPO ever okay”, He’s really closer to an example of them being okay. Not a good example to hold up if it is trying to show ERPOs are bad.

CG was replying to my Minority Report remark abvout what happened. CG was just re-iterating by 'splaining it.

I have not read where antifa and the like who also have weapons and make violent comments and actually follow through get ERPO's prior. Oh wait, the Proud Boys guys have just because them being someplace may just incite altercations. Guess leftist fvknvtz are not the flavor of the last few years to target.

If he's doing such dangerous things , that's why we have statutes for conspiracy and sedition .

Heck, there are plenty of radical groups we know participate in political violence , such as various Antifa chapters, John Brown Gun Club, Socialist Rifle Assn , New Black Panthers, etc . Are they being 'flagged ?

Well, I have a neighbor who has one of those evil assault cars. A Dodge Demon I think, that I need to take from him for the public safety. Way too much power, and an average commuter doesn't need this much speed or power. Only police and certified race car drivers need them, after training and background checks.

What I find hard to understand is why there aren’t significant court cases challenging these laws yet. It seems to me it has to be a violation of due process at least. Have I just missed them? Are we going to be stuck with these laws for the next decade or more?

Young man who is the black sheep of the family gets a red flag/ risk warrant called on him because he wanted to use his aunt's address as a ship point for standard capacity mags

    https://www.wnpr.org/post/his-aunt-saw-red-flags-police-got-risk-warrant

What's concerning is, the aunt made a connection between desire to own "high capacity magazines" and mass shootings, as if one causes the other. Given the media's ability to confuse the public about guns and gun laws, I can imagine that being well within the law could still could get one caught up in this madness.

They can't and won't be challenged, because doing so would mean you are for evil people doing evil things, or so I've been told. The poor old COTUS is just that old and outdated, or so I've been told. The Republic as it was founded is no more and won't be returned to its former glory all societies eventually fade with how many people are on the Pagan party train these days maybe its for the best.:sad20:
