Sorta off topic, but are destructive devices banned (If you have the appropriate tax stamps)?

    No.
One of the funnier things about the FSA 2013 was they didn't affect Class III items or DD's.

It would be a violation of the FSA 2013 to mount a grenade launcher on a post 10/1/13 semi automatic centerfire rifle that also had a folding stock or flash suppressor though.

Reading threads like this make me a sad Panda.

It is clear that the firearms community wants to be legal. As time goes more asinine laws are passed so nobody knows heads from tails. All we know is Criminals win, because they don't care. Much like people in office.

    I have to stop.

Barrett makes no such firearm called a “Light 50”. It does not exist. Period.

Barrett makes two semiautomatic 50 BMG rifles- the model M82a1 and the model 107a1.

The Barrett model M107a1 is banned specifically BY NAME.

The Barrett model M82a1 is NOT BANNED SPECIFICALLY BY NAME.

Those of you saying the M82a1 is banned are simply “taking an existing law and bending it as far as you can to encompass a whole new category of firearms” (google that quote if you don’t recognize it)

Put another way, you people are extrapolating a law to make it ban things that the people who wrote the law weren’t smart enough to do themselves. But they appreciate your efforts to help them ban your guns. What good subjects you are...

Laws are words. Words mean things. Specific things. Not what you *think* they might mean, but rather, what they ACTUALLY say. If Barrett ever comes out with a model called the “Light 50”, then it’s banned BY NAME according to the way the law is written. But the Barrett model M82a1 IS NOT banned by name in MD. Period.

Wait where is the M107A1 in the statute?

An M82A1 in .416 should definitely be legal since it's not even a "fifty". How do you get a copy of something that doesn't exist? A lawsuit over one specific firearm doesn't seem helpful and would probably just make them amend the law to update nomenclature. Are there any open lawsuits over this list of banned firearms in Maryland?

Or more specifically, since the 4th circuit upheld the ban, what is the process to take it to the supreme court? If they don't take the case one year can you keep trying every year? Does that attempt cost money? How much? GoFundMe?

Copy of what? Barrett Light Machine? I went through this on the board nearly a year ago. I was ready to put money down. Now I need to get pumped for a Serbo or whatever it's called.

You are 100% incorrect. The Barrett Light .50 semi-auto rifle is banned by name. The M-107 is not banned by name in the statute or COMAR. The M-107 was added to the list MSP claims is "banned by name" when someone went to buy one and the dealer inquired. I know because I'm the guy that was going to buy one November 2013. MSP made shit up and pulled it out of their ass.

That is neither the statute nor COMAR, that's MSP's list. ONLY the prototype Barrett Light .50 semi-auto rifle is banned by name. MSP claims a rifle that existed as a prototype only has parts interchangeability with the M-107.
