    I’ve stopped by Anglers, dicks sporting goods, Walmart, and have not seen one rod or reel not made in China. I’m trying hard to buy nothing from that evil gulag. Anyone know of a USA made fishing co. With a dealer around here or a direct order website? Amateur fishing with three kids...not looking for high dollar custom gear. Thanks

    Unfortunately unless you go high dollar you're likely stuck with imported. Penn still makes some reels here I believe. I'd say look for Taiwan made or Philippines made as they're both allies and democratic. Eagle claw hooks are USA made and that's what I buy. If you want awesome USA made rods look up meat hog rods. But you're gonna pay top dollar.

    St.Croix rods for sure. I think Star and Lamiglas, too.
    The only US-made Penn spinning reels in the line are the 704z and 706z, huge surf reels @ $200. And the Torque IIs which start @ $700.
    Older US-made Penns can be found on Ebay.

    St. Croix for sure still makes rods in the USA. Some of their lower end stuff (I'm talking $200 range) is made in Mexico. Still great stuff though. If you look at the price tag and your jaw drops, it's made in the US.
