I'll start it off with my newest addition to the family. A weatherby vanguard Limited edition carbine in .308win. It features a fluted and ported one piece bolt with AR style positive extractor. A bell & Carlson medalist stock which has an aluminum chassis that goes the entire length of the stock body. The sling swivel stud is screwed directly into the alum. body and not just the composite. Trigger breaks clean at 2lbs with just a 1/16" of take-up. I topped her off with a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40mm and Leupold 2 piece steel bases and rings.
Went to the range to shoot it in on friday. I only two types of ammo with me at the time. I fired 147gr match handloads and 168gr remington match. The Rem match grouped best with the average group size right at .85" @100yrds. Sub MOA just like the weatherby video says it should shoot. I'm very impressed with this little rifle, i can't wait to take her deer hunting next year.

Not exactly a modern bolt action but below are my favorites, Persian Mausers

The two long ones have CZ quality and hardly used, virtually as good as my modern 527. The M49 is Tehran made but seems equivalent.

Pictured Persian 29/98 and Syrian M48. The M48 is pretty rough but Syrian crests are uncommon and apparently it got a little bloody (a little spooked by the history this gun has).

Nice weatherby, I like my vanguard .308 also. How does that bipod mount on the bottom of the stock?

I Left a message for ya last night on cell phone. I bought your Henry rifle at Tim's. You didnt return my call.:innocent0

I knew that rifle looked familiar. But it didnt have that prostaff on it.

I didn't know you called me man. Call me again. I'm glad you bought the Henry. Its a good rifle, i just had to get some other things and it had to go. You know the problem...
The harris mounts directly to the sling swivel stud. Then the sling connects to the bottom of the bipod itself.

If it's bolt action ya want, so be it.

    • Technically speaking my old Schmidt Rubin 1896/11 is a bolt action rifle.
    • The No. 4 MK 2 SMLE is a tack driver and definately bolt action.
    • That Turk M38 Mauser I just restored is bolt action.
    • The Savage 110/.223. Yep, it's a bolt.
    • That Marlin 925M? Yep, it's also a bolt.
    • The T99 Arisaka. Oh yeah...it's a bolt.
    • Heck, the Savage MKII is even a bolt action.
    • The Mosin's?, They're both bolts. The 91/30 is the one I picked up from Keepshooting this week.
    • And let's not leave out the K31. It's a bolt too. :)

I've reached the limit on attachments, so you'll have to imagine the other Mausers, Mosins, Enfields, Steyr M95 etc...

I don't like bolt action rifles. Personally, I've never owned one. :innocent0
