Over time I have grown to dislike black plastic stocks on most guns.

Decided it was time to $hit can the plastic Ruger stock and put on a real one.

This walnut one came from Accuracy Systems and I couldn’t be happier with the quality, fit and finish.

Now looking for a quality, made in US leather sling for it.

I’ve wanted a Mini14 for a while. Just never gone all in since they seem so controversial regrading their price for the performance you get but they look so damn good in wood. Nice one OP.

    Looks great.

My tactical mini 14 is stainless. I don't think that would look as nice with the wood.

Looked good enough for the A Team.

I have my tactical set up in that exact configuration, except I dropped it in an older factory wood stock. I'd recommend an M1907 sling.

Any chance you have a picture of yours with the M1907 sling on it?

I have had three on order from Turner Saddlery since February for a Springfield 1903A3 and two M1 Garands. Evidently they have had some delays and some trouble getting leather.

I was kind of leaning toward a Nohma Amish made buffalo hide sling. I have one on a Ruger 10/22 Mannlicher and really like it.

I never even though of putting a 1907 on it.

The wood in that stock is fantastic. Hard to believe it's on a Mini-14.
(to quote Seinfeld,,, not that there's anything wrong with that. :innocent0 )

It would. That's actually a gripe I have with Ruger that with all the versions they offer, they don't have stainless&wood. If I come across a stainless&plastic for a good price, I'll pick it up and drop it into a wood stock.

I keep debating to myself if I should pick up one of these; course now they cost what? Like $200 more than a year ago? More? The cheapest I can find one new is $960

    That is very nice.

Shame we cant use the Sampson factory folder reissues on a 14, should be ok on a 30 but a 14 would be enumerated in statute.

And just think , back in the day , Mini-14 used to sell for half to 2/3 the price of AR-15 .

But alas , Mini prices kept pace with inflation , while AR prices massively dropped in real $ terms .

I've always said Mini's were quite worthwhile , as long as you considered them their own platform , with its own pluses and minuses , and not just a " funny looking imitation AR " .

I wonder where the wood stock for my Mini is. I replaced it with the black one.

Might think about going back, if I can find the wood one.
