I spent the afternoon at AGC. First I was dialing in my new CZ455 o the Barnes Range. I love this gun. And then I went up the hill to coach the Howard County 4-H trap shooters on the trap field. Beautiful day and I didn't miss football a bit.

Worked in the yard, felt a little liberated. I like it, not being tied to television on sunday.

I worked on installing lights in the pagoda by the koi pond.

We all sound like people at our first twelve step meeting. Here's my take. We all worked hard at coming up with things to do to NOT watch football. That strategy has about a two week shelf life. The bedrock key to changing behavior, given that we are all creatures of habit, routine, is to consciously design and implement a new routine, bahavior. It is best when it is something that we can do repetitively. It helps if it is very enjoyable (psychic feedback, endorphins and all that) and something that lends itself to becoming a habit. As the habit takes over we find ourselves simply too busy to worry about football. It got crowded out, not foresworn. Let the twelve step meetings carry on! Hi, I'm hillbilly grandpa, and I'm a football addict.

Last sunday, I went shooting, took the marlin 7 out for a ride in the woods, and spent time with my family.

This sunday, I got some much needed recovery rest, cleaned up after my boy's 1 yr bday party, got some errands done, and spent time with my family.

Moved some furniture. Honestly, I lost interest in football years ago because of the attitudes and style of play. So nothing new for me to skip Sunday football.

i stopped watching 5 years ago and was amazed at how i got my life back. I actually have weekends now. I can do anything, go to the range, mow the lawn, go out to eat, spend time with the family, anything. Im not shackled to the tv. Glad to see others doing the same.

I never watched it, but it is good reading how people are making their time productive right now.

First Sunday without football for me in quite some time. It was made SIGNIFICANTLY easier considering the fact that the ol' Purple Flock is quite literally crapping the bed at this point! My fiance is an IS2 in the Navy and she got orders to MacDill AFB in Tampa, so we did some packing for our move in 2 weeks. Also, I am bringing my motorcycle down with us, and since it has been in storage for a few months, I took the early afternoon hours to pull off the gas tank, replace the air filter and the dying battery, and got her running just fine. Looking forward to more open Sundays in the freedom of the Sunshine State!

Went walking some properties in southern Maryland looking for land. Don't need the NFL or any other sport that takes a knee, fists in the air or other gesture that doesn't honor our flag or anthem. Many of my friends and family fought and/or died them. Chris

Last week I took my new A5 out to AGC and shot some trap. Haven't seen a game since the London Ravens game. No more Sunday, Monday, Thursday -- this is liberating. Also quit fantasy leagues I was in.
