I have noticed that the price of most of the handgun ammo in Walmart has recently been raised.

I don't know if they are still the cheapest place around.

Oddly, I was in 2 different Walmarts here in NC, and the Walmart in New Bern had prices a full dollar higher than the Walmart in Havelock, just 15 miles away.

I noticed that today as well. I saw a box of remington .45 acp in towson for $19.99, and I'm pretty sure it was either $17.99 or maybe $18.99 the last time I saw it, only a week or so ago.

The Federal 22lr bulk pack in the California store has gone up to $18.97

it used to be around 12.97 a few months ago if I remember correctly.

I saw 9mm 50 rounds for $13 something now instead of $8.97 ugh

Edit: To clarify, Federal 9mm 50 round is still $9 something. I think it was the winchester 50 round that was $13. 100 round box for $23 something.

Well, if the PTB think that making us go broke to buy ammo and guns is a good idea, perhaps they haven't realized the reality... guns and ammo are worth more and are more useful.

I was just in Wal Mart, 9mm federal is still 9.47, WWB 100rd value pack of 9MM went up to 23.97, the RWS stuff is 15.97 a box, and 45acp UMC 250 round pack is 84.97. The federal 550 pack of .22lr went up to 17 something from 13 a few months back. The price of gas is way up again which I think has alot to do with it, only you don't hear about it like you did when Bush was president thanks to the MSM.

about the price of gas, people are beginning to blame speculators in wall street despite lower demands for gas now adays and some oil barons are over producing.

    You're one lucky guy! :D

I never seem to catch them while they're in stock at my local walmart :sad20: And yes, you're right - federal 9mm 50 round is still $9.47. I think the 50 round for $13 I saw was either winchester or remington. sorry for the confusion! :o

My parents have been noticing several of the local walmarts "restructuring" what they carry vs. do not. More on electronics and food, less everywhere else. Since they are about bulk, sounds like they are passing on the costs to the lesser items that are not the core.

I think it is a manufacturer thing. The Walmarts I frequent seem to have started carrying Federal and have done away with Blazer. I think they went to Federal for pricing. WWB is higher across the board.

I'm thinking a contract expired and Winchester became able to quote a higher price.

Truth be told, it makes no difference to me. I am still getting 9mm at $10 per box ($9 some places in VA, but haven't been there in a while). Federal shoots better for me anyway, more consistent charge.
