Heres the text of the post for those not addicted to Facebook.

Moms Demand Action. So do Dads. So do gun owners, like me.

Americans support our global arms control agreements because we know that the weapons are what make wars deadly.

Americans will also support arms control domestically, because we know that the weapons are what make animosity among humans deadly.

Andrea Chamblee reminded us yesterday of the very purpose of the United States Constitution: justice, domestic tranquility, general welfare, and of course liberty.

The Second Amendment was drafted not to guarantee individuals the right to carry arms, but to convince delegates from states who did not share a loyalty to our young country that they would maintain autonomy. It allowed them to organize state militias as a defense against the United States of America.

Government regulates firearms because government must respond to public safety threats. Shooting is the #2 cause of death among American children, and the #1 cause of death among African American children.

A failure by public officials to regulate the weapons used to kill our children and our neighbors is a failure to deliver on our most sacred obligation as public servants.

The committees of our Anne Arundel County Gun Violence Prevention Task Force are hard at work. I look forward to receiving their recommendations on December 15, and I look forward to implementing them in 2020.

It’s time for an arms control agreement, right here at home.

and remember, don't fool around with getting tied up in the replies that are in threads within the larger thread. Those aren't visible unless people drill down.

What revisionist history class is this drivel from? Why were the other amendments included? To convince those not "loyal" to our young country? You know those that already fought for its independence against a government not interested in the rights of its subjects/citizens. Maybe these first amendments were there to protect citizens from a strong central government - and those that sought to have them included were being "loyal" to the ideals for which they all fought and were foresighted enough that there would be a time when lesser individuals would have power in federal and state governments that would seek to limit rights not explicitly protected. Remember, all the new states ratified these amendments, including Maryland.

Not if your a teacher, they are getting something around 20% raise if I read correctly.

Paid for by... If you're a teacher, part of that raise is coming out of your pocket. And if your pension is based on your salary, the retirement check you won't be getting because the fund is broke would have been bigger, but those that retired sooner drained the fund for you. :sad20:

There will be; most assuredly, future county taxes increases. To keep ahead of that giant sucking sound.

Make your money in this state and then G.T.F.O.

98% of the comments are lighting him up, with Chamblee and MDA supporters failing miserably with the emotional and framed responses.

Not that any of this matters, they will keep slinging it regardless :sad20:
