I see there's a hamfest at Sportsmans Hall in a few weeks. Anyone know if they have testing there?

Just passed my Technician's exam on Saturday, this website was an enormous help: https://hamstudy.org/

    Congrats!

I'm 5 for 5 on their practice tests, but I am disappointed in the questions I am missing... many just stupidly hurrying and not fully understanding the question.

Interesting, I need to check my schedule.

Passed the Technician exam this morning. Missed two. Damn metric system....

By the way. You know you can't transmit until your license appears on the FCC web sight; But check it on Monday. I took my test on a Saturday and the license was active on that following Monday afternoon.

Yep. They said check it around noon on Monday.

Some poor lady this morning failed the test twice and was going for a hat trick while I was still there.

Where did you take the test? I took mine in Catonsville.

We had one guy take both the Technician and then General test the same morning and passed both.

Down in Laurel at the Women's Club building. Administered by the Laurel Amateur Radio club folks. There were a couple who also tested out Technician and General and another who tested for General and Extra.

Breaker, breaker good buddy, keep the pedal to the metal!

I've had my BaoFang since the Chantilly show but have been attending to other things. I will get this hammy thing in gear soon though.

    Congrats.

Back when i went to get my technician, i aced it so they handed me the general. Did pretty good on that so the had me take the extra. I missed that by a few points. They wanted my to try again, but i was about fried at that point. I had only studied for tech. The examiners were hoping for a trifecta. Wound up getting my extra a month later at HOCO fair grouds ham fest.

I was the same, almost. I aced the tech but didn't think i would be ready for the General since I also only studied for the tech license. Studying for the General test now. Not really in any hurry. I'll just have to buy more equipment when I get the General, (shoosh, don't tell the wife):innocent0
