It appears Crazy Uncle Joe is going to make us register AR pistols that have a stabilizing brace as a SBR.

Are SBR's legal in MD? I'm pretty much up to speed on MD's stupid "so-called assault weapons" laws, but clueless about SBR's in MD...never had one. TIA.

Yes they are. The one issue with MD is a centerfire SBR must have a minimum OAL of 29".

A Centerfire Semiautomatic Rifle ( including SBR) must be > 29 inches . Bolt , lever , single shot , etc do not .

( Hummm . How about a host for a Transferable Sear, Lightning Link, etc ? )

What list? Its a rifle. It's not an "Assault" rifle, "Assault" weapon, or copycat. its not a pistol.

He is talking about the list that MSP uses as their list of opinions of long guns.

Not that we could actually get anything through the MGA...but it would be good if we could get that 29" limit removed for SBRs. That was a byproduct of 2013.

If things do go bad hopefully the new demand for SBRs spurs development of a fold to side collapsing stock with very long length of pull.

In the age of 3D printing I can’t believe a good solution isn’t already available. I think the lack of stock options to comply with the 29” rule is holding more people back from SBRs then the $200 form 1.

Folding is an Evil Feature in itself .

Barring a complete turnover of the MGA for the better , if you asked them to revisit SBR , it would be to make it worse .

In order for a folding stock to be an evil feature, the gun must be allowed to fire repeatedly while the its stock is folded.

If I had one of those, I would definitely register it.

I'd do that on February 30th of next year.
