    I started using the improved clinch knot on the braid and mono knot for both sides and have never had it slip. The little tiny tag has never been a problem.

    I use 30# braid and 20 pound trylene XL in salt and 15#/10# combo in fresh water. I cut the trylene in two arm length between my hands (12' maybe) and roll and tape with scotch tape and sharpie the poundage on it. Keep it all in a sandwich bag in my PFD.

    Use a nail knot and one of these tying tools:



    The one in that video is from Orvis and is a bit pricey, you can find other brands on Amazon for half the price that work just as well.

    Is this for a shock leader or regular leader? for braid to mono leader I have used the uni-to-uni without issues. For a shock leader I like a spider hitch to a no name knot.
