I can't seem to find the article now but somewhere (maybe in my head??) i swear i saw something that said when reloading NATO brass to reduce the load by 10%. What i mean is, if the "max load" listed is 26 grains you take off 10% and consider 23.4 your max load.

obviously you still have to check for pressure signs and other things anyway but i wanted to get a good idea of a 10 batch OCW test and dont want a seriously under powered round nor an over powered (read: unsafe) round.

It's my understanding that if you are loading 5.56 mm NATO brass do not have to reduce the powder charge, However was 7.62 mm brass does need to be reduced.

Yes sir, When I started reloading 7.62 years ago working up loads the ones that were no where near max showed sizes of pressures...so reduced loads..

.223 / 5.56 here is some other nfo that may help
