I tried using one of these for home defense once... it was a poor choice.
What if the intruders are carrying these.
OP no disrespect meant for your fine rifle. I was just being a smart ass.
I am using a 300B/O AR pistol with hunting rounds for my home defense gun. I just want to build some concealed wall locker for it in my bedroom.
Is that a Timber Wolf? Really wanted one of those back when they were out.
If not, who made it please?
.357 is one of my favorite rounds. Excellent performance for HD or carry.
200g ELD-X loaded subsonic should hit about as hard as a .45, but nearly as hard as as the OP, assuming he is using heavy .357 hollow points, in that rifle.
.357 out of a rifle has very little recoil.
I will put on my clown mask. The they will think I am Outrider and run.
Just come out wearing a Borat Mankini. No weapon needed.
This little guy should be all I need for home defense.
I started laughing the first time I fired some very hot Federal 125 grain 357 out of my Henry. I think these are very punishing loads even in my Ruger GP100, and in the lever rifle it was barely more than a 22 with recoil. I could hardly believe it. No muzzle flash to speak of either.
Nice...but I'm a little concerned about using handloads for home defense.
As of now, I'm using a .300BO pistol also but with 110gr Barnes, worked well on a deer this year lol
My preferred HD gun is my MPX-P suppressed running subs.
Does a .357 rifle kick that much? I've never shot one, great ballistics round for sure but curious about following up shots.
