Gerber Applegate Fairbairn Combat Folder

Just picked one up today at work for $77. Production date of Sept 09. Stamped Gerber USA! Anyone have one? Thoughs and opinions? I like how big it is(10" overall) and the shape of the blade. Looks to be well built and good for utility and self defense.

I've had mine for about 10 years, maybe a little more. I like it alot, as I do most Gerber knives. With a little practice of the wrist, it can be deployed as quickly as assisted opening and automatic knives. You made a good purchase.

good steel in that knife. you will find that it holds its edge well and it sharpens easy

Fantastic! Glad to hear good reports. I have several other Gerber knives and tools. So far everything of theirs made in the USA I have loved. This knife is my new carry for hiking mainly, but also general utility. Cant wait to put it to use.
