Decided to buy something a little old school. Colt Competition HBAR very low serial number. Of course you cant use Pmags with this one. Have to go Colt or bust.

Always wanted a Pony AR, not trying not to buy a LE6920 Socom.

    More changes...

Morning ya'll, been a while since I've posted.

My last post. I ended up going back to the drawing board after not really liking how thick/heavy that Aero rail was and not beeing crazy about the 1-6 ACSS reticle on my main 16" rifle. So I ended up going lightweight again after building out another 18" rifle that serves as my heavy/SPR. That can be seen below too. But first, my main 16" mid-length.
    2708daf9-9fdd-4fe2-b3d7-1260c959ac71

    Anderson lower
    PSA lower parts kit
    ALG ACT trigger
    Strike Industries enhanced mag catch
    Magpul BAD lever
    Magpul MOE grip
    Magpul MOE fixed carbine stock
    Invincible Arms upper receiver
Ballistic Advantage 16" 223 Wylde Hanson barrel, mid-length
    Strike Industries chrome forward assist
BCM vertical grip (I took this off, running no vert grip for now)
    FailZero NiB BCG
    Raptor charging handle
    Bastion USA dust cover
    Sig Romeo 5
12" Aero Precision Atlas S-One M-LOK rail (incredible!)
    MBUS Pro front/rear
VG6 Epsilon brake (she loud! Might look into the VG6 cage for using indoors)

    New 18" heavy/SPR.
    791b2df4-9f69-45db-b1fc-6a8e70762e62

    Anderson lower
PSA complete upper, .223 Wylde, 18" barrel, rifle length gas
    15" lightweight m-lok rail, part #5165448520
    SI enhanced LPK
RRA National Match 2-stage trigger (wow!)
    BCM FDE trigger guard
    BCM FDE Mod 3 grip
    Luth-AR rifle length buffer system
Magpul MOE FDE rifle length fixed stock
Magpul FDE m-lok type 2 rail covers (rail is a cheese grater without them)
    Magpul MBUIS (free!)
Primary Arms AR15 basic scope mount (replaced by Primary Arms Deluxe AR15 Scope Mount - 30mm)
Bushnell Banner 3-9x50 Matte w/ Multi-X Reticle (replaced by Primary Arms 1-6X24mm SFP Riflescope w/ ACSS ACSS 5.56 Gen III)
UTG bi-pod (already pre-ordered the new Magpul one)
    Gray Badger ambidextrous charging handle
    VG6 Epsilon muzzle break

So yea, on the 18", the scope and mount have since been replaced with much nicer ones (taken from the 16" mid) after I quickly realized the Bushnell Banner is a piece of shit (good thing it only cost me $15 after rebate) and the scope mount was $25 (also shit). I am very happy with both rifles and they shoot great.

The things I'm most excited about are having the (awesome) 1-6 ACSS reticle over on the 18" to get in some sweet target shooting. Also, having the new Aero Atlas S-1 rail and Romeo 5 red dot on main 16" rifle. They are a fantastic combo. I wasn't having much fun with the 1-6 on my 16" even though it has a 1x power and I could use it like a red dot, it just wasn't the same as actually having a red dot. And that Atlas S-1 rail...oh baby...it is sweet. So thin and light and just feels amazing in your hand. I've also become a fan of the 12" rails on 16" rifles, not the full size 15".

Can't use Pmags? Physically, or symbolically?

Finally had a chance to shoot my budget rifle. Assembled in my kitchen because I don't have a dedicated workbench. I learned very quickly that no muzzle device puts on a show at an indoor range.

    Engage forged lower
    PSA lower parts kit
    Aero Precision Phosphate BCG
    PSA HBAR marked barrel
Bushnell AR Optic-It's a great red dot for the price ($40). Held zero just fine. Haven't dropped it yet.

I have no idea who manufactured the upper receiver and handguard...cannibalized from another cheap upper.

16" barrel, and I actually don't know which length gas. I will have to check, lol. Other than popping that scope on there, I haven't had a chance to mess with it yet

No worries. Thought it might be an 18-inch which is why I asked. Probably carbine gas. Great overall look. Like the fluted barrel too.

And my pistol which is like a Mk18/XM177/commando tribute type deal. Or something. Until I get an XM177E2. I need to stop watching so much Tour of Duty.
