I was talking about the registry of transferred long guns brought up in SENATE BILL 737. The point I was trying to make is that there is no provision to make anyone register firearms currently owned. Only that when a transfer is made private or through an FFL it must be registered, like we have to do with handguns now.

That makes the law even if, God forbid, it passes unenforceable, if a registry isn't taken then there is no way to tell if a long gun was transferred properly or not.

Yeah, no way at all, until the "friend" you are selling a gun to or buying a gun from turns out to be undercover. Righteo, no way at all short of a registry for this law to be enforced.

This is how the prisons end up filled to capacity.

The saying is "why do 10 when you can give a friend 5" in regards to feds.
If someone get's in trouble, they give names to reduce their sentence and you get caught. So maybe you do sell it to a friend. And your friend sells a totally unrelated to you gun of his to an undercover. Now he gets busted and gives your name.

Which bill are we talking about here? If we are talking about the HBAR bill, then the date of manufacture must be before 10/1/2013, not 2019, unless they have added language to the grandfathering clause of FSA2013 to carve out HBAR's possessed prior to 10/1/2019.

Holy crap are you serious? That’s going to produce a lot of criminals, which is obviously their goal.

The desire and ability to own guns must be bred and regulated out of the population.

Suppression of rights, which the left hates, except when they dont, is the issue.

I dunno... seems like we should wait for a law before figuring out how we will respond to it...

It doesn't hurt to plan ahead, especially for mitigating potential criminal charges. But keep your plans to yourself, especially until after the MGA session is over. Nobody wants to hear Del. Moon thanking them by MDS screen name for having pointing out flaws in one of these bills as he introduces modified language in committee.

Nothing happens so long as you're the only person who knows you haven't and aren't complying. Loose lips sink ships.
It's sad, I have pics of me canoeing to go hunting but took the whole jumble of guns I had for a picture, and the canoe tipped over. Never even got a damn picture of the sinking.
Insurance paid, but I can't get them back.
I do have pics of them, I liked 4 of them (GP100 Stainless 4" - (my wife calls it the John Wayne :) - 92FS Baltimore City used, the others, and my Bushmaster XM-15,
the "Montgomery County Sniper Shooter Edition" - and the piece de resistance, the AK - PolyTech Legend Double Under Folder - she was pretty. and expensive...

    gurgle gurgle gurgle...

SOME smart people have alot of ammo or loaded mags at home, while totally legal, (like me) raise eyebrows with the police.
I would head them off at the pass, "If you wish to search my place, I have XYZ arms and Ammo and it is HERE and here.
If they are searching you, there is something wrong, or marginal.

Not complying is like "having lust in your heart" per Jimmy Carter. Who's likely to know except those who may decide to follow all the babbling on shooters forums looking for noncompliers? Grey man.....

They have NO IDEA HOW MANY loaded, legal 30 round mags you have. LEGAL.
    Some might even have a LEGAL BX-25 x 2 50 ROUND LEGAL MAG. It's .22 but it's awesome.

It's an easy way to phase out guns. I mean, say I was willing to "not comply" and keep my guns. Would I give them to my kids when I get old? I wouldn't want them to catch a felony would I?

How often do laws get repealed? Not often.

We talk about scotus helping. How has that worked for ny, ct, nj, cali?

Increase scotus to further anti gun movement:

Clearly there is a social justice warrior mentality sweeping the nation.
The non socialists seem to be becoming the minority.

We have the 2nd amendment, yet the infringements keep coming. They keep coming because the enforcers get their orders from those who made the unjust law.

Someone wrote "Sooner or later SCOTUS is going to have to weigh in."
I ask: What year will that be and what do you do in the meantime?
oh, and is that before or after scotus gets filled with more who are anit?

    Another thread titled:
"House Democrats Plan Vote to Criminalize Private Gun Sales This Week"

Now, they can keep making these and keep making these... even if only 1 of 10 get through, they will just put up 100, then another 100, then another 100.

The state has unlimited funds from our pockets to continue this fight.

We can vote them out of office. How has that worked out?

Is there a way to actually bring charges against those in office who violate their oath and tie them up in court and make them spend their personal money on defense so that they for once are on the defense instead of on the offense?

Or fight the damn thing rather than ponder on compliance

100% CORRECT! WTH is wrong with you folks? You are giving up and deciding to be criminals instead of fighting it. We DO have the power to vote these idiots out of office. The hard part is how do we get everyone out to vote?

We need to be the squeaky wheel. We need to get the message out. There are independents in this state who are not happy with what is going on.

Hopefully RGB is soon gone from the SCOTUS. It already appears the SCOTUS is now open to hearing 2A cases - that is a huge victory for us. Just a few decent rulings could flip the entire momentum our way.

It will take a damn lot of work, but it is far from impossible.

    Just my 2 cents.
