Bullet buttons, fixed magazines, making it into an sbr, all of these stupid work around because they broke the rule and did not follow the constitution. Is there a criminal charge that can be filed against a politician who breaks their oath of office? Surely, there must be some penalty for this right? What branch enforces the penalty?
Oath of Office. Upon taking office, senators-elect must swear or affirm that they will "support and defend the Constitution." The president of the Senate or a surrogate administers the oath to newly elected or re-elected senators. The oath is required by the Constitution; the wording is prescribed by law.
