    Hi, all

I am new here and MD. to be honest, I even don't have my own gun, but I would like to joint this family soon. I am sure I will get a lot useful information in this forum.

I have been working in Army for years, but I am a civilian,:(

I did some market research and found Glock G-17 might be the one I like. any advice?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Welome to the forum.

The Glock 17 would be a great 1st gun choice. Try to find one used to save a little money. Consider getting training before your purchase. Many instructors will have. G17 available to teach you.

    Welcome,
    Glocks are great pistols.
You can rent guns at some indoor ranges (TargetMaster on Rt 202 is one I'm familiar with) 9mm is a good choice also because ammo is cheaper and recoil is less.

Look into an intro course like First shots or Basic pistol:thumbsup:

Welcome, fellow Cecil-tuckian! I love my Glock, but like others will tell you it is best to try out a variety (rent or try a friends) and see what fits you the best. And Yes, get training and then train some more.

I second the motion, go rent a few guns or shoot a friends gun. People generally say that I like the angle of the grip on a Glock, or I like the angle of the Springfield XD... or brand __________. Offer to buy some ammo for a friend (and shoot most of it up) and see if you like it.

    Oh yeah...welcome to the forum!!

    Welcome from Elkton.
If it absolutely, positively, must go bang every time you pull the trigger, Glock would be an excellent choice. The only question remaining it full size, compact or sub-compact.
    try all three.

welcome from carroll county and heed the advice from helpful strangers. Rent, borrow, steal(just kidding), a gun from a range or friend or a generous and helpful member. buy ammo for said gun and try it out. worst case scenario, you're out the cost of a box of ammo but you know what you like/don't like. best case scenario is you make a straight shot for the gun counter to pick up your new/used gun that you're sure you'll love. I have an XD-9 for rent for the low, low, price of a box of ammo and a soda. Or a tall glass of lemonade.........sweet lemonade......mmmmmm......sweet lemonade
