I hope they don't fill Club requests first. That would probably take them all out of the hands of collectors and enthusiasts.

How many guns are they realistically talking about? Think they can sell out faster than the last batch of carbines?

My only concern is they will try to get "Market Value" for these firearms. This could put many of these handguns out of the reach of many folks. But who knows what they will be selling and what will be auctioned? I'm sure if any of these have a collector's value, they will go right to the auction site. I'm just worried that the rest of the pistols are going to be bits and pieces and not really worth that much.

This is bound to get very interesting. The fever up until they are released is going to be unbearable.

I remember an old post in the CMP forums saying that the CMP would only ship the 1911s to FFL-01 dealers in the end purchaser's state. This way, the CMP does not have to navigate each state and local jurisdiction's handgun laws.

It looks like the CMP 1911 threads (on the CMP forum) are getting closed by the Mod's. I guess the CMP folks don't have answers to anything and want to shut down hearsay and speculation.

I guess 1A is just outhouse wallpaper on 2A forums.

I don't think that's it. I think they want to stop the speculating and rumors. Until they get the program up and running, it would probably be bad for false statements to be posted on their forum.

    I don't think it's anymore than that.

The scuttlebutt is that they are going to be starting at $1,000 and that was from a source on the interweb so you know that is accurate. I would be kind of upset if they didnt authorize shipping similar to other FFL-03 items.

I would love to see them for $600 or less, but I would guess they will be over $1K.
