a seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true.
"in a paradox, he has discovered that stepping back from his job has increased the rewards he gleans from it"

As law abiding gun owners who are seeing our right to bear arms stolen from us it brings up the "paradox" of trying to remain law abiding, while at the same time standing up for your rights in a meaningful way with a positive outcome. Unfortunately there really is no way to paint ourselves as "law abiding" in the eyes of gun grabbers who already believe that all gun owners are potential crazies who could start shooting people at any time. We aren't going to change their minds..they are hell bent on violating our rights to further their own agenda. So how do we defend our rights without looking like "the next mass shooter?" If we point to the 2nd amendment and proclaim the reason for it was to defend freedom from a tyrannical government, the left uses that against us by calling us radical and dangerous. They lie about everything from the so called "gun show loop hole" to how our firearms function. Even calling our black rifles "assault weapons " to stir the emotions of those who are ignorant of the facts.

So, how do we not only defend ourselves from the verbal, and sometimes physical attacks? In my opinion we ignore them..that's right..we continue to voice the truth, point out every incidents where firearms save lives and refuse to comply with illegal infringement. Let them pass all the laws they wish..dare them to enforce them . Be upfront with law enforcement. We have no desire to go to war with the government and certainly do not want bloodshed...that said, they must be warned with peace and love that if it comes down to no knock raids in the middle of the night, we will not hesitate to defend our rights, and we will take the fight to those who have the desire to strip us of our rights for their own nefarious agenda. We have been the victims of these attacks for decades, rarely if ever lifting a finger against those that want to take away our 2A rights. They need to be warned that if thier attacks continue, we will have no choice but to engage them in the manner that the 2nd amendment was written for.

Spoken like someone who has their head buried in the dirt hoping the gun grabbers will leave him alone and when they don't you will hand over your rights without a fight. The last person we need..go ahead and save yourself the trouble and turn them in now. The fight is coming whether you want it or not..at least we now know where you stand.

Great post Muleskinner. I appreciate someone who isn’t afraid to speak their mind. We have quite a few on here who are Sunshine Patriots and those who want to make jokes while they live their lives in their personal little bubble. The funny thing is the joke will be on them when the bubble is finally burst and SHF.

The answer is to stop being afraid to speak out..stop letting the fear of being caled a "terrorist, a gun nut or a potential threat" keep you from being outspoken..up to and including telling the left wing asshats that they are risking civil war if they continue to infringe on our rights..they have a large portion of the 2A community shaking in their boots and they know it. It's time to start playing offense..they need to know in no uncertain terms what will happen if they continue. .

To be honest I am afraid of violating rules of this forum , and to be busted using the Red Flag laws that are in place .

It is an honest fear , I have a family , business and people that depend on me .
I do speak my mind , I have walked the line I will be there on the 25th with a sign possibly with my brothers , I will close most of my company down for that day .
I am going to write a couple checks .

Welder, I think a lot of us harbor that question, so see this as openness. As every decision is a trade-off, it can be grim to think of the costs, ....either way. Don't mean to be dramatic, but it's not like this is a minor issue.

I am certainly no sunshine patriot. I love my country and all that reside within her boundries, but I will be damned if I will let a bunch of socialist vermin undermine my rights..any rights..and I WILL fight, even to the death to defend them. Not only for myself, but for future generations of patriotic Americans. During the American Revolution only 3% of the population took a stand against the British. .I am hopeful that many more will fight to preserve freedom..but from what I see here, many will either hide until they are caught or side with the enemy. .and make no mistake, the liberals that want to strip us of our rights are our enemy..

I agree. I think a lot more people than you may think do as well. Why should people put that out on social media?

I think we need to speak from our hearts and not worry about what the opposition thinks. They already hate us. We should take a lesson from President Trump's SOTU where he called out the libs on infanticide, socialism, and border control. We want our Constitutional rights, period. I'll be in Annapolis.

"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

In the past I've often commented on this and other issues such as flag-burning with "fight fire with fire" There's many ways to do this that are constitutional and within the law. Escalation is wise. Going from discussions to insurrection/revolution is obviously foolish.

There's absolutely no reason to imitate Ghandi but smartly-executed [defensive] escalation would more likely garner support of Middle America and Conservatives by highlighting the offensive, rule-less and violent nature of the others that we are only matching....for the time.
