Has anyone made the road trip to Shooters Gauntlet for the Machine Gun shoot in June any of the past 2 years? How was it?

It's next weekend, June 2-3. I think I want to see the spectacle their website makes it out to be.

Disclaimer: I tried to search on terms Machine Gun and Shooters Gauntlet before starting this thread. I couldn't find any other threads or posts. And I haven't yet earned my creds for the WC if a discussion on the topic is there.

I was in Towanda, PA for work last year. It's a decent drive to get up there from MoCo. I stayed in an old 1950's style motel...a real throwback. The only noteworthy thing I remember is how difficult it was to get a decent meal in town. The local coffee shop (Community Cup, IIRC) was the only bright spot. Eat fast food otherwise.

I may make the trip for the June 2-3 event. IDK at this time.

Thanks for the info. I’m familiar with the area, my mom graduated from Wyalusing High School, maybe 20 minutes away. I’ve just never been to Shooters Gauntlet, didn’t know it existed until I was googling for something else about shooting an MG. Beautiful area, I haven’t been there in many years since extended family no longer lives there.

I’ll have to give them a call. The price of admission description seems to say I can bring my own rifle for a place on the line and also bring tracer rounds to participate in the night shoot. I want to be sure I understand what is included in the base fee.

Well....I'm going. I'll let you know how it is. I had a few questions and I talked to the owner today, Bob, he was very helpful and friendly over the phone.

I found a promo video to share with y'all.

Edit: Requesting instruction (or link to instruction) on how to embed a video from youtube as others did for the NRA Commercials.

Edit: Requesting instruction (or link to instruction) on how to embed a video from youtube as others did for the NRA Commercials.

First, find the last part of the youtube URL, in this case fNcnaKXEWEQ. That string uniquely identifies the video you want.

There are tags that will mark that string so the board software knows what to do with it. The start tag for an embedded youtube video is [ yt ], and the end tag is [ /yt ], without any spaces. For this example I added spaces so the board software would ignore the tags, otherwise you would not be able to see them.

Putting it all together, it looks like this (again, you will want to do it without the spaces):

    [ yt ] fNcnaKXEWEQ [ /yt ]

Finally, here is the embedded link entered correctly, with no spaces... if you want to see it just quote this post:

Cool. I didn't know how to do that. Thanks for the info.
Should I post the MP5SD video?

Hummm, post a video of a cool MG being shot at a big MG shoot on private land up in the hills. What to do? I'm so conflicted...

    POST IT!!!!!!!
