NEW! Service Rifle 308 Data on Hodgdon site.

Hodgdon has finally added 308 Service Rifle Data to their online data site. I'm not sure when exactly, but I don't recall it being there Saturday. Pretty basic, however a popular selection of recipes. Main thing for me is seeing it verifies H4166 data that had to be worked up starting with an...

      Sierra Prices

Wow! Since Sierra Bullets was sold to Clarus Corporation, the price has gone up quite a bit. I used to compare Sierra's on sale with Nosler's at SPS and pick the best buy. Now I may be considering Speer and Hornady for target bullets.

      H4895 or VV N135?

It's time to replenish my staple powder. Since the 1970's I've been a traditional IMR4895 guy for everything. Started with 8x57 and as milsurps grew, I just stuck with it because it is great in Garands, M1as, well, everything. If you only had one powder 4895 or 4064 will just about do it. I...

      Shooter's World/Lovex

Has anyone gotten a response to requests for data from Shooter's World or Lovex USA? After 6 weeks, 4 emails, and 1 call, I gave up. I had used the Lovex powder as Accurate 4064 and liked the consistent velocity over the Winter through Summer temperature spreads we get here in MD. So seeing...

      Use for old recoil springs

This is not really gunsmithing, but use of an old pistol spring. I think Millennials would call this "re-purposing" the parts. The back screen door has the typical lever type latch. The spring broke so the bolt didn't come out and the handles just hung at a 45 degree angle. Rather than go...

      Lyman Customer Service A+

Lyman gets a kudo for Customer Service this week. I misplaced the restrictor plug for my Lyman Gen6 Dispenser. Searched online and could only find $12-$15 aftermarket plugs (out of stock, too), and no parts listing for this machine on the Lyman website. I emailed Customer Service through the...

      9.3x57 Favorite Components

I've a request of the 9.3x57 shooters onboard. What components did you choose for you favorite load? I don't want data, I have tons of it and don't want to start a whether or not it's a good idea to post data debate. Just your components. My two favorites are: 232 Norma Vulcan, H4895, Norma...

Remembering Ledo's and Jerry's before they were chains.

Went into a Ledo's and memories of standing in line, in the snow, with other college students just to get in flooded into my head. I don't think the pizza's were less greasy, but for some reason we just had to go. Same with Jerry's when it was one shop in Wheaton. The "Secret Sauce" was...

Coming out, but not buying that rainbow AR.

Lurker coming out of hiding - Dennis in PG. Hi, I finally decided to introduce myself. I hate forums, but you guys don't seem to be.. well, like people in forums. Maybe the state is too small to be anonymous? I'm in PG by Andrews AFB where shooting is not allowed unless it's a 9mm...
